Masonry
Masonry for renovation work: partition walls, new door and window openings, closing up recesses, structural repairs. Any work on a load-bearing wall goes to an engineer first — without that confirmation in writing we do not start.
A site visit, then a written quote.

A partition wall looks like a quick job for any bricklayer, but its mistakes stay in the home for years: a wall that drifts off line, an opening the door frame will not fit, a new window with no lintel above it. Masonry for a renovation means partition walls in brick or block, new openings for doors and windows, closing up niches, and structural repairs. Any work on a load-bearing wall goes to an engineer first — without their written confirmation, the work does not start. We work in Tirana, Shkodër, Fier and anywhere in Albania.
What is included
- Partition walls in brick or block, plumb and tied into the existing walls
- New openings for doors and windows, with lintels above them
- Closing up niches, doors and windows that are no longer wanted
- Structural masonry repairs, to the engineer's written instructions
- An engineer's written confirmation before any work on a load-bearing wall
- Protecting the floor and the rest of the home from dust during demolition
What is not included, or is done as needed
- The engineer's assessment of a load-bearing wall, as needed and as its own line in the quote
- Plastering and painting the new walls, as their own lines in the quote
- Electrics and plumbing inside the new wall, as needed and as their own line in the quote
What it costs
We do not price from a desk. We come and measure on site, and after that you get a written quote with labour, materials and VAT set out separately.
What we will need from you
These are the papers this work usually needs. They are not a condition of starting — we say so up front so the work does not stop halfway.
- Work agreementScope, price and dates, signed before the crew starts.
- Access consentWritten permission to enter, from whoever holds the property — a tenant is not always the owner.
- Photo and publication consentWhether we may use before/after photos of this property in our own materials. Refusing changes nothing else.
- Handover sign-offSigned at the end: the work is done and you have seen it.
- Structural sign-offWhere anything load-bearing is touched.
How we work
See the whole processFill in the request or ring us. To get started we only need the address, the room and what you have in mind.
We come to the property, take the measurements and set the scope of work: the state of the walls, the services and the floor. We do not price a job we have not seen.
The offer separates labour, materials and VAT where it applies, with the deposit to start and the lead time. Every revision is kept as a new version, so the history stays.
The crew arrives with one lead answerable for the work. We source the materials and check them before anything starts.
We walk the quality checklist with you, put right anything on it, and the work we have done is covered by our guarantee.
Questions we are asked
Can I take out the wall between the kitchen and the living room?
Possibly. If it is a partition wall, usually yes. If it is load-bearing, the decision is neither yours nor the builder's: an engineer looks at it and says whether it can be opened, how far and with what reinforcement. Without that written confirmation we do not start.
How can I tell whether a wall is load-bearing?
Not for certain from the outside. The thickness, the material, the direction of the floor slab and the building's drawings give clues, but the answer comes from the engineer. Until then, any wall in doubt is treated as load-bearing.
Partition walls in brick or in drywall?
It depends on what you will ask of the wall. Brick and block carry heavy things hung on them better, such as shelving or wall cupboards; drywall is lighter, goes up faster and brings no water onto the site. We do both, and at the visit we tell you which suits the room.
Does one bricklayer come, or a whole crew?
The crew the job needs, with one crew lead answerable for all of it. If the new wall also needs plastering, electrics or painting, we coordinate those within the same quote, so you are not hunting for a tradesperson for every step.
Shall we start?
Tell us about the room and what you have in mind. We come and measure, and come back with a written quote.
