Kitchen fitting, from the measurement to the first meal

Kitchen fitting: units, worktop, sink, extractor and appliances, with the water and power connections. Measured before ordering, quoted in writing.

A site visit, then a written quote.

A kitchen with a worktop and warm-toned units

A badly fitted kitchen does not look bad — it just gets in your way every day: the door that catches on the handle, the socket that ended up behind the fridge, the worktop joint sitting right over the sink. So we measure the room before anything is ordered, and plan the water, the power and the waste on the same drawing as the units.

What is included

  • Measuring the room and drawing the layout before a single unit is ordered
  • Fitting base and wall units, levelled and fixed to the wall
  • The worktop, the cut-outs for sink and hob, and sealing
  • Water, waste and power connections, with sockets placed for the appliances
  • Fitting the extractor and its duct, where the building allows one
  • Splashback above the worktop and the final trims

What is not included, or is done as needed

  • Manufacture of made-to-order units, where an outside maker is chosen
  • Moving the waste stack or the gas meter
  • Appliances themselves, unless they are in the offer

What it costs

We do not price from a desk. We come and measure on site, and after that you get a written quote with labour, materials and VAT set out separately.

  1. Fill in the request or ring us. To get started we only need the address, the room and what you have in mind.

  2. We come to the property, take the measurements and set the scope of work: the state of the walls, the services and the floor. We do not price a job we have not seen.

  3. The offer separates labour, materials and VAT where it applies, with the deposit to start and the lead time. Every revision is kept as a new version, so the history stays.

  4. The crew arrives with one lead answerable for the work. We source the materials and check them before anything starts.

  5. We walk the quality checklist with you, put right anything on it, and the work we have done is covered by our guarantee.

Questions we are asked

Do you measure before or after the order?

Always before. Units are ordered against our measurements on site, not against a floor plan, because walls are rarely quite straight and a two-centimetre error shows up on every door after it.

Can I keep the existing kitchen and change only the worktop?

Yes, if the carcasses are sound. We look at them during the measurement and will say plainly if a new worktop would cost more than it is worth on a base that is coming apart.

Who connects the appliances?

We do. Water, waste and power are part of the fit, and anything on gas is connected only by a licensed technician. Every connection is tested before the units are closed up.

How long is the kitchen out of use?

It depends on the job: replacing units over existing services is far shorter than a kitchen where the water and power move. The days without water and without cooking go into the programme before we start.
