Bad plastering does not show on the day it is finished, it shows when it is painted: light falling sideways from the window picks out every wave, the corners come out crooked and the old cracks are back after one winter. Good plastering starts underneath: taking off plaster that no longer holds, opening and filling the cracks, beading the corners, then a base coat and a finish coat to a flat surface ready for paint. Before it goes to the painters the wall is checked under raking light. We plaster interiors in Vlorë, Elbasan, Fier and every other town in Albania.

We do not price from a desk. We come and measure on site, and after that you get a written quote with labour, materials and VAT set out separately.

Questions we are asked
How long does plaster need to dry before painting?
It depends on the thickness, the weather and how well the room is ventilated. A thin skim dries quickly; a thick coat of plaster needs more days. Paint it too early and it blisters or goes patchy, so the drying time goes into the schedule in the quote.
Why do cracks come back after plastering?
Because often only the surface was filled. A crack that moves — where a wall meets a column, or above a door — has to be opened, filled and reinforced with mesh. If the crack comes from the structure an engineer looks at it first: plaster cannot close a problem that is moving underneath it.
Can you plaster over the old plaster?
Yes, when the old plaster is sound and well bonded to the wall. We tap it to find out: wherever it sounds hollow, it comes off. New plaster over a loose layer is a job that gets done twice.
What is a raking-light check?
A strong light held almost flat against the wall, so that every wave and dip shows up that the ceiling light would hide. That is how the afternoon sun sees the wall when it comes in sideways through the window — and that is how we check it before handing it over.
